Chef's Note:
There seems to be some confusion about a couple of our recipes.....let's clear up the "Roastbeef Debris".
Lola has developed many recipes over the years adapting from the good 'ole traditional styling. Some of the dishes you may experience will be from the best of two worlds! Like the Roastbeef Debris! Like "Mother's" in New Orleans, slow roasted beef.....and like "Ray's PEGE" in Monroe...a thickened roast beef gravy to smother...dressed means the works, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato and red onion! Enjoy!

“Hello, Lola. I am the "Brian" who picked up the order last Wednesday for an office celebration with the po-boy platter, jambalaya, salad, etc. Thank you--it was a wonderful success. It was a great idea to keep all the condiments separate from the po-boys because everyone, including the person allergic to mayo, appreciated making them to their own taste. In addition, the jambalaya was excellent and several folks commented that it was the best they have ever had. So, you have some new fans! Thanks again.”

“I was in Vegas 3/9-12/12 and had the pleasure of meeting Lola. Very warm/fun atmosphere and the service was excellent! I had the Shrimp Creole (add more rice please ;-) and my husband had the Jambalaya with added shrimp. We also the the crab cakes. All were very good. I have already recommended Lola's to my family.”

“My husband and I, along with his associate, went to lunch today. The three of us have never been big fans of Creole/Cajun food but we were looking for some great different food. We were all blown away by this place. There's only one thing to say about the food and that is "fantastic". I don't care where you grew up but when you're at Lola's you are home. The place is tiny so if you're going for lunch, get there closer to one than twelve. It was packed on a Wednesday. The staff is delightful and ever so gracious -- Angela, Quintin and, of course, the lovely Lola. It's so exciting to see a local restaurant thriving and being able to get great food off the Strip. I'm going to go back when they have crawfish. I never had this before but I just know that Lola won't disappoint. The way she romanced the taste just makes me want it NOW!!! Lovely, delightful, charming, cozy. 15 stars to Lola's!!!”

“Being from New Orleans and now living in St. Louis it is not easy to find good home cooking. While visiting Las Vegas we tried Lola's and this was certainly it! From the creamy red beans and rice to the distinct taste of the gumbo that only someone from New Orleans La. can prepare it was the real deal. Lets put it this way, I cant tell my mama!!! Keep up the good work and sucess is sure to follow.

“AWESOME PLACE!!! This was the first time we visited the restaurant & all I can say is WOW!!! We lived in New Orleans for 16 years (till Katrina) & moved here in October & have never found really authentic Louisiana food like Lola's! The Gumbo was mouth watering, the char-broiled oysters were to die for, the shrimp creole was so good & the BBQ'd shrimp were the best!!! We even tried the banana bread pudding. OMG the BEST we ever had & it was SO light! If you ever want to get the taste of authentic New Orleans cuisine, this is a must! Thanks for the experience Lola...”

“July 2011
All I can say is DELICIOUS! My husband, his buddy, and I had dinner at Lola's and it was FABULOUS! It was my 1st time there and I loved it sooooo much that I asked the guys to take me back for lunch before I returned to Florida. The food was delicious, esp. those crab cakes, Caesar salad, and Sweet Potato Pecan Pie. The presentation was 1st class! The crab cakes came with her signature "L" written on them with her delightful sauce. The ambience is wonderful, the staff delightful and the food speaks for itself.
Can't wait to revisit in September and get more of Lola's creations!!!

“Went to Lola's after reading about it as I am always looking for good Crawfish Bisque. They didn't have it on the menu tonight, but I spoke to Lola about it and she said she would make it if I promised to come in when she did some upcoming Friday night. If she is making it, I am coming in to get some. Says here, I promise. I had the peel and eat shrimp and it was tasty. Nice sized Shrimp cooked perfect. I'll be back...Promise ”

“Thank you Miss Lola for the hospitality. Baaaaby, the shrimp and grits were wonderful and James is still raving about the crab cakes. Great lil place to go if you're looking for some good New Orleans cooking. Merci Miss Lola;)”

“I LOVED Lola's!!! My wife and I are very picky when it comes to Cajun & Creole cuisine. Our friends that were with us are WAAAAAY pickier than us. From the very first bite, we all four said "Wooooow!!!!!". I had the shrimp po-boy. It was unreal. It's all about the bread. Well, they order their bread from Leidenheimer Baking Company in New Orleans. Nuff Said!!!”
Carlos
“Yes, I am a Southern Gal born and raised in Louisiana and YES WE LOVE LOLA'S! My husband is from the Midwest but I introduced him to Southern food when we met 10 years ago and he loves it. He was so impressed with Lola's he promises to try the catfish and grits next time! Now that's progress! We will be back again and again!!!”

“Outstanding south Louisiana cuisine !!! We discovered Lola's recently and have returned over half a dozen times and plan on being steady return customers. We've lived in New Orleans and still return on vacation twice a year. In every respect, Lola's dishes are the equal of the Cajun dishes that we enjoy in New Orleans at our favorite restaurants. Special dishes for us include the oyster porboys, gumbo, red beans and rice, bread pudding and sweet potato fries. If you're searching for the "real deal" south Louisiana cuisine in Vegas look no further than Lola's. Two thumbs way up !! ”

“All I can say is OMG! My BFF and I had lunch at Lola's yesterday and it was superb!! The food was delicious (bronzed catfish and the crab cakes) and the presentation was 1st class w/out putting your budget in the red zone. We posted pics of our food and a pic of the menu on Facebook and when I went to the urbanspoon I was so shocked at the negative comments by john the food critic that I had to add a disclaimer. I actually got through the whole meal without picking up the salt shaker (I'm a salt freak) for who would want to mess with perfection? The ambience is wonderful, the staff delightful and the food speaks for itself. So maybe it's not a 5 star according to John but what it is, is down home comfort cooking that that warms the tummy as well as the soul. I am not an expert by any means but what I am is a southern gal who knows good food when it passes my palate. And my disclaimer is that I am actually from "Southern" Detroit. :o)”

“I make gumbo myself though not too often and having tasted Lola's now its gonna be even longer. :) I totally recommend as a meal or at least an appetizer.”

“I am Cajun and from Southern Louisiana. I miss home more than anything and I miss the food. I usually make my own Cajun food, but I don't always want to cook. I have been to many places claiming to be authentic here in town and have left disappointed each time. When I find this place online, I begged my husband to take me. He was skeptical, knowing that each time I try a new place I leave disappointed, but this place was DELICIOUS!! We had the bronzed catfish and grits, Roast Beef Po'Boy, and bread pudding. I literally almost cried! I have already spread the word to everyone who will listen to go and try this place. It will not disappoint! I will see yall again! ”
Lindsey
“The bread pudding and the grilled oysters are to die for!!!!”

“Holy Cow!!! The best crawfish in town, hands down. They were so flavorful and big! Thanks Lola we will be back for sure!”
Jen
“My friend said we were going for crawfish and I didn't want to go because I only had them once at a place here in town and they were way too spicy. These were just great, but we also had the broiled oysters, the combination plate with oysters, shrimp catfish and crabcake. Everything was better than what preceeded it. I am going back with my husband for dinner!”
Bonnie

“Fabulous food! Took the teenagers for dinner, they had the chicken fingers, loved them! And they are the officianados of chicken fingers. I couldn't choose between the BBQ shrimp and the catfish & grits so ordered the latter to go. The BBQ shrimp was fantastic! Just enough spice, great! The bananas foster was the perfect ending to the meal! Definately going back again & again!”

“Me and my wife were looking for something off the strip that was good and I must say that Lola's fit the bill. Having lived in New Orleans for 10 years I must say that this is real New Orleans cuisine. Food was so good that we went there twice while in town. ”

“Attention all Vejuns... If you are from Louisiana and live here in Vegas you will understand the origin of that word. (Vejuns) If you don't, then ask Lola when you visit her.
This is as good as it gets for Louisiana cuisine in Las Vegas. I am from Louisiana and used to work with a lot of great chefs in New Orleans. You ever hear of Emeril Lagasse?
Lola hits the nail on the head with her authentic Louisiana cuisine. I will not do a review on any of the dishes that I have had, because a review won't do them justice. You just have to see for yourself. I am there every wednesday trying something new on the menu. I haven't tried everything yet but I am on my way. I was hooked from the very first bite and am not looking back until I try it all.
My hats off to you for accomplishing that truly authentic Louisiana feel both inside and out every time I visit.
You definitely have earned a loyal customer from back home...
Lola, Laissez le bon temps roulez...”

“Had lunch 11-21-2009,food is all it was claimed to be,had the Crawpuppies, gumbo, and Lola's bread pudding.Food was terrific for a first timer, but the noise level was too high, could use a quite atmosphere, and a buffer entry to prevent drafts from front entry door.Other wise I'll be back.”
Bill S.
